September 9, 2025 – Today, Canadian harpist and composer Justin Karas shares “Tonight”, a dark, harp-led elegy ahead of debut solo album, Flowers Wild Abound, out this Friday, September 12, 2025. Alongside a music video, “Tonight” traces the quiet beauty of endings and offers a tender entry point into the record steeped in nature, memory, reflection and human connection. In promotion of the record, Justin will hit the road starting this week in Ontario and capping off the tour with a release show Montréal at P’tit Ours on October 18, 2025. Tickets are available here.
“Tonight” unfolds like a meditation on goodbyes, where death, like the final flicker of light, gives way to breath, and the cycle begins again. Layered with harp and reed quintet, the song weaves lyricism and instrumentation into an intimate and expansive landscape.

Accompanying the single is a dream-like video directed by Jasmine Oore, with cinematography by Fabio DeFelice and editing by Karas himself. The visual counterpart mirrors the song’s exploration of transformation, loss, and renewal bringing Justin Karas’s poetic lyricism into life.
Speaking of the music video, Oore shares:
“By blurring boundaries between body, voice, and landscape, the imagery is meant to be evocative rather than literal, allowing the audience to feel the emotional weight of our connection to- and lack of control over- nature; the inevitable beauty and grief that we endure. It’s a dream-like meditation on the passage of time, how we move through our seasons of life, whether we accept it or fight it. In this video, we hope to make the song’s emotional and internal journey tangible and immersive, grounding our yearning for nature with hints of friction against having it in its purest forms.”

Flowers Wild Abound is a 10-track collection of intricately layered chamber-folk songs exploring memory, nature, and connection, the album arrives following years of quiet development and sonic experimentation
“Writing this record often felt like stepping into a dense field of wildflowers,” says Karas. “I wasn’t sure where I was going, but I had to listen carefully to know what path to take.”
Co-produced with experimental harpist Sarah Pagé, Flowers Wild Abound is a sonically lush and emotionally open work. Harp remains the record’s anchor, but its nine songs are rendered in vivid, textured detail, with arrangements for reed quintet, string trio, flute, pedal steel, vibraphone, and more. Each track is rich with double meanings—where a love song may also be a song to the natural world, and metaphors about borders might speak to both global division and personal protection.
The album takes its title from a recurring lyrical and visual motif: flowers as a language of nature—wild, delicate, and deeply symbolic.
