Having a Bob Ross moment

A really great rock band named Oddsfiche asked me to cover their show at the Black Swan this past Saturday. They were on the bill with Traumaqueen. The lead singer was a short blonde with a strong voice. When I walked into the tavern, I saw that short blonde on stage and getting the crowd into a joyful mood.

The place was packed all the way through, and I made my way to the front of the stage to grab a few photos.

I sat on the pool table making my notes as this Greek band was just keeping the crowd in that party state of mind. When I saw the Traumaqueen on YouTube, they were doing a bunch of covers. This band did a couple of covers, but mostly Greek music…HMMM.

The band got on at 10pm and if they were an opening band, they should be off by 10:45. It was now well past 11pm. What is going on? What happened to Oddsfiche? I began to investigate.

Well, it turns out they were playing upstairs while this Greek band whose name is really Entehno was killing it downstairs. Needless to say, I found Oddsfiche upstairs and apologized. I will catch them next time they play and so should you. So I will keep you in the loop.

Entehno clearly was a huge hit playing Greek music in Greektown. They are 8 members in this band, and they played a huge run of Greek music. Well, I was the odd man out since I do not know a lot of Greek music. It didn’t matter the crowd knew most of the songs and were happy to sing and clap out loud.

They did play a couple of covers that fit in perfectly with their sound. They played a song and then slipped in, “Hit the road, Jack” to finish the song off. That was very cool. Even more cool was their version of Bobby Ferrin’s classic, “Don’t worry be happy”. That was a no brainer since everyone in the room was at the height of their happiness.

They even began to form a dance circle halfway into the club. You can witness this with my footage from Instagram.

As you could see this was a solid night of partying and it went right up until the bitter end.

If you are a fan of Greek music, here is the band’s Instagram account so you find out more about them. OPA!!!

In the famous words of Bob Ross, this was a happy accident.
