Henry Taylor is a Country artist that hails from Kitchener- Waterloo Ontario. This guy also has many co-writes with other Nashville artists. When you put on this album, the first song you hear is Shoebox of money. This song is an immediate hit and should open up this artist’s career. It starts off with sounds reminiscent of both Neil Young and Blue Rodeo. It is a smoldering rocking country song that just tears on down the road on the way to better things.

Henry continues to “Burn” with his next song.  It is a slow rocker that slowly builds it fire and wakes you up to a new perspective of life.

The pace changes with “Without you”. It has a bit of a Bob Dylan meets Steve Earle vibe. It looks at the insecurities people can feel in a relationship.

Being a city chick, I may not understand the rural way of being, but I know a good song when I hear it. “Coming along”, is a song of strength coming from a small chick, like me.

You can’t have a well-rounded album without that wonderfully sappy song that contains a lot of sweetness. That is the essence of “You’re a perfect day”.

The variety on this album hits a lot of different ideas and emotions.  Henry tries to put his original stamp on every song he performs.

You can really feel it in the song, “I don’t have a name”. It is a song of frustration that most people feel in the world. It is that feeling of invisibility and that you simply don’t matter. Well listen to the smoking guitar solo at the end, and you will rejuvenate your worthiness again.

When you finally reach the tenth and last song on the album, Henry ramps up his game again and rocks the hell out of Hummingbird. It is a very lustful song about having a new little bird in your life and you can’t stop your brain from constantly thinking about her.  I will flap my chicken wings for this song any day!

If you are a Country music lover and love supporting local acts, this is one new release that is worth looking into. Grab your favourite chick and your best friends and turn this weekend into a party.
