Labyrinth Fundraiser 2026: Ensemble/Together

We warmly invite you to our annual fundraiser! It feels most fitting to host it at the Tranzac, the location of our monthly residency and a hub for nurturing artistic expression.

For this event we will be expanding into the main hall, with performances by Iranian Folios of Dastgāh and Turkish superstars Yahya Geylan and Canan Sezgin Geylan. Additional activities will include a CD sale from a vintage selection of makam and makam-adjacent genres and a silent auction.

“Ensemble” means “together” and that’s the message that drives Labyrinth Ontario in 2026. We are about to take our next steps together on this collective journey, and we need your support.

This year we are planning our first ever international tour, a Makam Forum consisting of talks and concerts, and creating a mentorship structure so that our veteran community members stay involved with what we do.

Each of these activities brings people together in meaningful ways. In such divided times, we appeal to our community to help us realize these goals. It might seem hard to justify supporting the arts at a time like this, but Roa Lee of the Labyrinth Ensemble said it best:

“At Labyrinth, I was able to explore not only musical artistry, but also how music can respond to the real issues we face in the world. For me, someone who often wonders how to live as both a musician and a member of society amid so much heartbreaking news, those moments brought a deep sense of relief and clarity.”
