ABOUT THE SHOW

Produced and hosted by Jane Gowan (The Real Shade, Spygirl) and co-produced by Tim Vesely (Rheostatics, Violet Archers), Music Buddy is a dynamic, fun, and enriching podcast, featuring indepth interviews with musicians, performers, songwriters, producers, writers, teachers – anyone whose life or work is impacted by music. The show features thoughtful, human, and upbeat conversations that focus on music and music-related adventures.

Now in Season 3, Music Buddy is gaining popularity with music fans and music professionals alike.

Recent guests include violinist Anne Lindsay, musician/bandleader Jim Cuddy (Blue Rodeo), singer-songwriter Justin Rutledge, Director Mike Downie and drummer Johnny Fay (No Dress Rehearsal), music booker Yvonne Matsell, singer-songwriter singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith, visual artist Andrew Ruckledge, and Toronto Poet Laureate Lillian Allen.

THE MUSIC BUDDY SESSIONS

In addition to the one-on-one interview, we also produce The Music Buddy Sessions, for which we record an original song with the guest. The Sessions are recorded at Blue Rodeo’s Woodshed Studio in Toronto, and are recorded and mixed by Tim Vesely.

We have recorded songs with Justin Rutledge, Jim Cuddy, Dave Bidini, Annelise Noronha, Skydiggers, Don Kerr, Andrew Cash, Lori Yates, Ansley Simpson, Jerry Leger, and others. Many of these have already been released as singles, and are available on all streaming services. The full list of MB Session releases can be found on our Bandcamp page.
