Imaginary Expedition

The Catweazle Club is back from Summer break and delighted to be presenting a featured set but the wonderful duo Imaginary Expedition.

The date is Sunday September 20th.

A freespirited folk duo with chamber music sensibilities, Imaginary Expedition explores natural and emotional landscapes in intricate harmony and counterpoint. Toronto-based Victoria Dobbs and Glyph Greenleaf create all-original works combining folk songwriting with early music composition techniques, drawing people closer with their alto and baritone voices and lap-style classical guitar.

Doors open at 7pm and the open stage will begin at 7.30 so sign up to perform before then. Victoria and Glyph will play at around 9pm.

The Catweazle Club takes place at The Real Estate Shop at 1033 College Street. It’s at the corner of College St. and Rusholme Park Crescent.

Please bring a cash donation of $15 to help cover the rent on the space and Imaginary Expedition’s honorarium.

Based on the original Catweazle Club in Oxford, England, our gathering is all about intimate engagement. It’s a completely unplugged evening, and everyone piles together at the front on pillows, rugs, and couches for an up-close, participatory experience of artistic sharing and warm-fuzzy community! Seasoned international talent and first-time local performers all have their moment in a supportive, interactive environment, culminating in a set by a featured act, and there’s always time to mingle and meet new people.
