Junction City were lucky enough to host a band that channeled the energy of the Allman Brothers, called Silver Creek Folk. This groove oriented band took flight and soared around the room with a warm hug that kept on giving.
They played songs off the first Ep and you could not believe that this band cannot play a sour note. They created a sonic soundscape that would enter into your brain and light it up like a great LSD trip, without actually doing the drug. They found a funk that connected like a well oiled machine and instinctually put your soul at ease. Songs like “Dirty Laundry”, and “Fun-kertown”, kept the room smiling ear to ear.
They finished the night with “Long road home”, and the happiness that filled the room was a true success. This is a band that you need to explore, because their spontaneity is infectious and they have a lot of rocket sauce that will light up the fan who wants an education from space explorers like Silver Creek Folk.
Angora opened for Silver Creek Folk. This band is going to grow into something wonderful. They let us know this is only their fifth show and they come off as if they have been together five years. With songs like “Mama told me”, “Downtown”, and “Angora”, this band will have all the clubs packed pretty soon.
