Hey kids are you into art rock? Do you like watching live music go astray? Well, this night was filled with thrills and chills and things that just go bump! Oh Yeah and a Megaphone that ruled over this atrocity we call live music…
The Incident
The lights go out; there is commotion happening on the floor. Someone is in distress! The flashing lights keep my eyes blurry as I try to focus on wha? Is this a kidnapping? Someone is being carried out, and no one is stopping this madness. I could tell because they are wrapped up in some unknown material.
I think someone got a bloody nose out of this deal. It left The Incident without power for a couple of minutes.
They opened with a ballad that was quietly disturbing. It was as if they were mourning a past trauma and singing that they loved drinking beer in the morning, when they spoke French and other mundane routines of the day.
These rock pop songs wake your sorry ass up like a belching anthem of the unkempt youth.
The megaphone showed up like a bad experiment that was testing out the vocals of the meek who haven’t found their voice yet.
This moment led to a missing capo that eventually led the band into lost territories and showed up as a bungling robber, then the stool with their laptop was knocked over. Boy, was that an Incident.
Near the end of their set, there was a slow song with tremendous keyboards that bubble-wrapped you and tried to drown you in outer space.
When they reached the moment for an encore, the audience forgave all the chaos and created their own incident by bouncing up and down, trying to lower the foundation in the Handlebar.

Through a disgustingly used megaphone, the band yelled out- ARE YOU READY TO ROCK!
I think the band should have started their set with a fresh song about looking for a lost blue water bottle and pleaded this atrocity through a megaphone.
They should also have sung about losing a drummer to an airplane. Luckily we had the most powerful drummer on the scene, and he got behind the kit to save the day. And he did it without the prompting of a megaphone.
This new line-up consisted of Derek Downham on drums
Adam Badadi on Guitar
Soa Bang on Bass
Abigail Craven- Singer/songwriter and guitar
The band moved on to a song that felt like a light mist of a designer drug that filled the air. The crowd looked a little different and the mood shifted into a dreary region of a Carpathian forest.
This dream now shifted into a slow waltz made up of folklore and misery.
I really enjoyed their Radiohead cover, but the megaphone erased that memory pretty quickly.
By the end of their set, they slowed down their dream sequencer to a crawl. Falling at about 2 MPH, it glided you back to earth where you awoke more powerful than before. This was the moment of redemption and the noise from that megaphone subsided.

With a clap of thunder, the stage sounds were transformed into a funeral march for mutants. The night of the living dead never looked so unsexy. The members of this gonged out goons consisted of a button pusher who looked like that creepy guy from the Genesis song, “The Musical Box”. The drummer looked like he was stuck tripping in his own mushroom field. The keyboardist was a handsome man looking to audition for a Madoona video but is 40 years too late. The other handsome man was a saxophone player wanting to audition for Roxy Music but fed the saxophone full of cider and was too drunk to care anymore. The tall lad in the back who plays bass is a guy who sleeps besides all his instruments and names them all skinny Charlie. Our fearless and shoeless twit leader tried to play his music backwards and then gets angry and blames the band for playing out of synch. How embarrassing is that?
Didn’t they play “Stairway to Heaven”? They swear they did but the megaphone told us something different.
In that same moment, the itsy-bitsy spider did something, but we can’t really remember that either.
These space cowboys are known for pulling out their pistols and aiming it in any direction with their cockeyes. That’s when the chicken stepped in and corrected them before anyone got hurt. Personally, I believe the chicken was stage diving but went the wrong way.

The next thing you know, an old man fell down and couldn’t get back up. Then it was over.
What does it all mean?
