The Christmas Show

This was the 10th annual Christmas show, and it was sold out! The place where it was held is the Long Branch Social House. It is a large space that holds over 200 people.

Johnny Max was our Santa Claus as he hosted the evening with his friends and colleagues, Cheryl Lescome and Chuck Jackson.

This was my third Christmas show, and this is the third time I heard, “Let it Snow”. It is clearly a very popular song.

What made this evening fun, is knowing the people on stage really love playing together. It was very obvious when Johnny and Cheryl did, “Baby, its cold outside”. They really had fun flirting and playing off each other.

The evening got even better when they announced Quisha Wint to the stage. She ramped things up with her funky very of “Santa Claus is coming to town”.

The night was loose with laughter and fun with Johnny on the mike keeping us engaged with his wit. In fact, it got even funnier when Chuck was standing side stage and yelling out to Johnny that he was stealing all of his old jokes. I think he was jealous because Johnny did dedicate the next song to his ex-wife. The song was Frosty the Snowman…

The crowd clearly was out for a good time, because the dance floor was filled with all kinds of jolly people trying out all their dance moves and wearing outrageous sweaters, Even Chuck introduced us to his ugly sweater.

The Christmas theme ran through a bunch of musical styles, like Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong and even Buck Owens.

The highlight came near the end when they had a 50/50 draw. The winner was all the way in the back and literally just bought her membership from the Toronto Blues Society. So not only did she get her membership, but the 50/50 draw just paid for it. So if you want to get lucky, just buy your membership at one of their shows.

The big winner of the night was Kirsten Dressler.

Enjoy all of my very festive photos and remember to just- “Let it Snow”!
