Lunch with Ori

Lunch with Ori

The Toronto reference library is doing something very special this summer. Every Friday at 12pm, they have invited various artists to share their musical talent with the patrons on the atrium stage on the first floor. This day we got enchanted with the soft jazz sound from Ori Dagan and Jordon O’Conner on upright bass. They ran through many old jazz standards like, Dizzy Gillespie , Miles Davis and even Ella Fitzgerald, where Ori  got to shine a light on his scatting ability. If you have never seen him do this, you must get out to witness this in person. Jordan held down the fort with his fast and precise determination. When he gets to solo, he can run at a high level of fidelity and emotion. These guys are quite the duo. Ori stayed a while to talk to people and sign a few autographs.

He also has a new venture, being the entrepreneur that he is. He wanted to let people know about his new charity called Music can heal. It is a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing music to people who are in patient care. They will perform concerts at hospitals or even one on one, to help accelerate the healing process. This is a great way to boost the spirit and bring positive energy to benefit the person to heal at a faster and stronger rate.

Here are a few images from Ori Dagan’s performance:
